The new trailer for “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) Super Bowl” gives us more about the bad guy, Proximus Caesar, and sets up a big story for Freya Allan’s character. The trailer suggests Freya’s character might be into time travel, wanting to go back and stop the apes from taking over. Proximus is after her because he wants to use her knowledge to conquer humanity early or stop her from making apes and humans get along.
A new “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” trailer came out during the Super Bowl, almost seven years after the last movie, “War for the Planet of the Apes.” It’s 300 years after that movie. The first “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” trailer was out in November 2023 and showed us Proximus Caesar, the leader in the sequel.

The trailer shows more of the bad ape, Proximus Caesar, and how he wants to be a smart leader and take over the world for the apes. It also gives us more about Freya Allan’s character, Mae, who Proximus sees as important because she knows things he wants to know.
Is Mae’s Character in “Kingdom” Setting Up a Classic Apes Story?
The new trailer for “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) Super Bowl.” tells us Mae is a big deal in the story and for humanity’s future. It might change up the usual ape vs. human story. In the old movies, humans were weak and enslaved by apes, but the new trilogy showed a friendlier side of apes. “Kingdom” seems to mix these themes and gives Mae a bigger story.
Even though she trusts Noa, her wild nature suggests she might not like apes overall, and we’re not sure what she really wants. The trailer hints at space stuff, maybe suggesting Mae wants to time travel and stop the apes.
